Services

Ergonomic – the applied science of equipment design, intended to maximise productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort.

The saddle should not only provide an ergonomic interface between horse and rider, allowing maximum performance and communication between the two, but correct saddle fit is also crucial to the well being of the horse, and to the comfort of the rider.   A badly fitting saddle will restrict performance in both horse and rider, can cause pain related behavioural issues in the horse, but the worst, and unfortunately common consequence of incorrect saddle fit, is long term damage to both horse and rider.

Saddle Fit Consultations for ‘New Clients

SaddleSizer™ Tree MachineAs a certified Saddlefit 4 Life® saddle ergonomist, ESF offers Saddlefit 4 Life® saddle fit evaluations as part of a consultation.  This service provides an independant diagnostic analysis and advice on saddle fit for both horse and rider.  It is available to everyone, regardless of brand of saddle currently used and whether or not you are looking for a new saddle.   All measurements and templates are recorded and a copy given to the client.

ESF is also the exclusive UK retailer and service provider of Schleese saddles.  Schleese saddle adjustments can be done on site during the consultation, and demo saddles are available to trial as part of the saddle fit consultation if required.

 Schleese ‘Refit’ Consultations

Veterinary research supports the idea that saddle fit should be evaluated at least once a year.  It isn’t ok to think your ‘custom made’ saddle will fit your horse for the rest of it’s life!  Should you choose to invest in a Schleese saddle, it will be custom ordered to fit you and your horse, but regular Saddlefit 4 Life® evaluations are necessary to keep track of changes in your horse.  Then, if necessary, your saddle will be adjusted to accomodate these changes; all done on site at the time of consultation.  Even if you don’t think your horse is showing any signs of saddle fit issues, in many instances the horse is performing in spite of a poorly fitting saddle, so it is essential to have your saddle checked regularly.  Imagine what your horse could give you with a saddle that continuously allows him to perform to his optimum!

Saddle Fitting Lectures

As a partner in the Saddlefit 4 Life® global network of equine professionals, ESF is also available for lectures and demonstrations on saddle fit.  ESF will also be hosting lectures and professionals courses taken by Jochen Schleese, founder of Saddlefit 4 Life®, and designer of Schleese saddles.  Make sure to check the news section regularly for information regarding the above!
